In March 2009 we had a fire which destroyed nearly 700m² of building. Since the building was tenanted we needed a short rebuild time. However we were also constrained by being under insured and a desire to deal with UK sourced materials where ever possible.

Portal Power was quick to quote competitively and managed to fulfill our desire to buy British. We had decided to erect and commission the structure ourselves as we had previous experience in this area.

Portal Power delivered the structural steelwork on time, and made sure that the cladding and other items supplied by 3rd parties under the quotation were delivered on time so as not to hold up the works. The team was always on hand to help with technical issues and helpful suggestions based on their experience. They also have a very talented site manager, who had an input in technical queries. Structural steelwork was correctly cut, welded and drilled as stated on the plans. As with all jobs there were a few snags but these were quickly rectified. The project was completed on time and in budget.

The Company's experience and their willingness to share it with customers set Portal Power apart from the majority of structural steel suppliers. As a small business owner I was comfortable dealing with Portal Power because their scale makes them big enough to cope but small enough for my business to matter to them.
